About Facilitator: Devin Rondeau loves stories and larger-than-life characters. She spent her

formative years in the great state of Texas, and comes to the green mountain state for her son’s

formative years. Her love for telling a good story took her to the University of North Carolina

School of the Arts, where she studied theater performance with Gerald Freedman, earning her

a BFA in Drama.

She has since told both new and old stories as a performer at various theaters across the

North Eastern United States, settling eventually into the practice of writing plays. She found the

AWA method by way of Julia Cameron and The Artist’s Way, Mary Karr and The Art of Memoir

and eventually a Grief Writing Workshop with Lynne Connor, in a cozy writing room on the busy

streets of Brooklyn in the fall of 2017.

After years of living life and only ever thinking or dreaming about writing her experiences, she

actually just started doing it. There, with other writers, who had also been carrying around tales

of immense heartache and loss, they all began to articulate beautifully what it had been like.

The prose and poetry poured out of them. The experience transformed her and her writing

practice. Summer of 2022, she became a certified affiliate of AWA, Amherst Writers and Artist,

so that she could share the gifts of this generative writing practice with others and build a

community of fellow writers dedicated to the pursuit of a life-giving story told, now.
